The CM-Embedded Problem and a Sufficient Optimality Condition [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
In this paper the C_{M}-embedded problem which is also called the design centering problem in other papers will be described, and a sufficient optimality condition and some results associated with optimality conditions will be presented.

The second order optimality conditions for nonlinear mathematical programming with $C^{1,1}$ data [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
summary:To find nonlinear minimization problems are considered and standard $C^2$-regularity assumptions on the criterion function and constrained functions are reduced to $C^{1,1}$-regularity.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

No-arbitrage condition and existence of equilibrium with dividends [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we first give an elementary proof of existence of equilibrium with dividends in an economy with possibly satiated consumers. We then introduce a no-arbitrage condition and show that it is equivalent to the existence of equilibrium with ...

A non-classic optimality condition in the problem of control by boundary value conditions of a semi-linear hyperbolic system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
A non-classic optimality condition of variational maximum principle type is presented for optimal control problems by initial-boundary conditions of first-order hyperbolic systems.

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Cell geometry and membrane protein crowding constrain Escherichia coli growth rate, overflow metabolism, respiration, and maintenance energy

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

On Generalized Constrained Optimization and Separation Theorems [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper a generalized format for a constrained extremum problem is considered. Subsequently, the paper investigates and deepens some aspects concerning the linear separation between two sets in the Euclidean space, that are a convex cone and a ...

E-optimality of PBB designs with two associate classes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
.In this paper, the sufficient condition for the E-optimality of PBB designs with two associate classes is given. This condition is expressed in terms of the parameters of design and their incidence matrix.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
