DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF NONLINEAR PID CONTROLLER FOR A QUADROTOR CONTROL
The following article represents the control of an unmanned airborne vehicle (Quadcopter), using nonlinear PID controllers in order to control the altitude, as well as the attitudes (pitch, roll and yaw) of the Quadcopter.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Optimising towards robust metal forming processes [PDF]
Product improvement and cost saving have always been important goals in the metal forming\ud industry. Numerical optimisation can help to achieve these goals, but optimisation with a deterministic\ud approach will often lead to critical process settings,

Tiltrotor CFD part II: aerodynamic optimisation of tiltrotor blades [PDF]
This paper presents aerodynamic optimisation of tiltrotor blades with high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics. The employed optimisation framework is based on a quasi-Newton method, and the required high-fidelity flow gradients were computed using a

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

When Darwin Met Einstein: Gravitational Lens Inversion with Genetic Algorithms
Gravitational lensing can magnify a distant source, revealing structural detail which is normally unresolvable. Recovering this detail through an inversion of the influence of gravitational lensing, however, requires optimisation of not only lens ...
