The study aimed to examine the psychometric properties of the Dutch Life Orientation Test-Revised for Adolescents (LOT-R-A), a self-report questionnaire assessing dispositional optimism, and to evaluate the two-factor structure (optimism, pessimism). The

Optimal Solvers for PDE-Constrained Optimization [PDF]
Optimization problems with constraints which require the solution of a partial differential equation arise widely in many areas of the sciences and engineering, in particular in problems of design. The solution of such PDE-constrained optimization problems is usually a major computational task.

Optimal growth and Pareto optimality [PDF]
Using the McKenzie-Montrucchio approach to optimal growth problems the authors show that in a stationary intertemporal economy with discrete infinite time span and recursive utilities for each of a finite numbers of agents, every Pareto optimum solution is a solution to a generalized McKenzie problem.

The teacher–student relationship is modeled as an agency problem, where teachers are concerned with human capital formation and students with ability signaling. We distinguish between two cases depending on whether in ability inference the job market can or cannot observe the grading rule applied. We show that many empirical grading patterns, including

Introduction Previous research shows that subjective well-being during pandemic (SWB-P) is related to sociodemographic variables (de Pedraza et al., 2020) and coping (Rasskazova et al., 2020).

Optimal Pricing for Optimal Transport [PDF]
Suppose that $c(x,y)$ is the cost of transporting a unit of mass from $x\in X$ to $y\in Y$ and suppose that a mass distribution $ $ on $X$ is transported optimally (so that the total cost of transportation is minimal) to the mass distribution $ $ on $Y$.
