Performance of Domain-Wall Encoding for Quantum Annealing
In this article, we experimentally test the performance of the recently proposed domain-wall encoding of discrete variables Chancellor, 2019, on Ising model flux qubit quantum annealers.

Accelerated Methods for NonConvex Optimization [PDF]
We present an accelerated gradient method for non-convex optimization problems with Lipschitz continuous first and second derivatives. The method requires time $O(ε^{-7/4} \log(1/ ε) )$ to find an $ε$-stationary point, meaning a point $x$ such that $\|\nabla f(x)\| \le ε$.

ABSTRACT Neuroblastoma's complex, heterogeneous biology poses significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges, often requiring caregivers to absorb complex information and participate in time‐sensitive decisions. However, caregivers often feel unprepared to evaluate options.

On Covering Methods for D.C. Optimization [PDF]
Covering methods constitute a broad class of algorithms for solving multivariate Global Optimization problems. In this note we show that, when the objective f is d.c. and a d.c. decomposition for f is known, the computational burden usually suffered by multivariate covering methods is significantly reduced.

Generalized Adaptive Polynomial Window Function
We present a novel method to design and optimize window functions based on combinations of linearly independent functions. These combinations can be performed using different strategies, such a sums of sines/cosines, series, or conveniently using a ...
