Computational design of the temperature optimum of an enzyme reaction [PDF]

open access: yesScience Advances, 2023
Cold-adapted enzymes are characterized both by a higher catalytic activity at low temperatures and by having their temperature optimum down-shifted, compared to mesophilic orthologs. In several cases, the optimum does not coincide with the onset of protein melting but reflects some other type of inactivation.

Optimum light weight concrete mix design against high temperature [PDF]

open access: yesمهندسی عمران شریف, 2022
The fire phenomenon can cause the loss of structural materials resistance which may end to damage or even structural total collapse. Physical and chemical changes in concrete due to firing also make serious structural defects in concrete structures ...

Optimum high temperature strength of two-dimensional nanocomposites [PDF]

open access: yesAPL Materials, 2013
High-temperature nanoindentation was used to reveal nano-layer size effects on the hardness of two-dimensional metallic nanocomposites. We report the existence of a critical layer thickness at which strength achieves optimal thermal stability ...

Reduction of leaf tip burns of Ornithogalum dubium by controlling the temperature during bulb storage and greenhouse forcing to produce quality plants

open access: yesAdvances in Horticultural Science, 2022
Production of quality potted Ornithogalum dubium Houtt. plants were investigated under multiple conditions: pre-planting treatment at 10, 16, and 22°C for 40 days from Sept. 21 (stage A; ST-A) during bulb storage and then bulbs were potted.

Evaluation of germination characteristics and determination of cardinal temperatures of poppy (Papaver somniferum) seed [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و فناوری بذر ایران, 2017
The aim of this study was to quantify the response of germination rate to temperature and to find cardinal temperatures required for different germination percentiles in Papaver somniferum. Four models of non-linear regression [Quadratic, Segmented, Beta

Karakterisasi ekstrak kasar fitase termofilik dari bakteri kawah Ijen Banyuwangi, isolat AP-17

open access: yesJournal of Biological Researches, 2010
Crude thermophilic phytase was produced by isolate AP-17 that has been isolated from Ijen Crater Banyuwangi. Based on Gram test, isolate AP-17 was gram positive spore forming rod shape bacteria so that it was identified as Bacillus sp. AP-17.

Comparison of Structural Features of CRISPR-Cas Systems in Thermophilic Bacteria

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2023
The clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat (CRISPR) is an adaptive immune system that defends most archaea and many bacteria from foreign DNA, such as phages, viruses, and plasmids. The link between the CRISPR-Cas system and the optimum

Optimum temperature for the growth performance of juvenile orange-spotted grouper (Epinephelus coioides H.)

open access: yes, 2008
Effects of water temperature (17, 21, 25, 30 and 35 degrees C) and body size (14.75-281.41 g initial body weight) on food consumption, growth, feed conversion, and dry matter content in orange-spotted grouper fed to satiation were investigated.
