New data on temperature optimum and temperature changes in energy crop digesters
Bioresource Technology, 2008As a result of self-heating in anaerobic digesters when using energy crops in the feedstock, the influence of temperature on the digestion process came back into focus. The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of such temperature increases on process stability.

Optimum Temperatures and Temperature Ranges for Growth of Snow Algae
Arctic and Alpine Research, 1975Blooms of algae are known to occur in snow when air temperatures remain above freezing for extended periods of time. However, hard freezes may occur after snow algae make their appearance, and some species may survive this environmental stress more easily than others.

Optimum step‐stress for temperature accelerated life testing
Quality and Reliability Engineering International, 2007AbstractStep‐stress accelerated life testing is a design strategy where the stress is modified several times during the test. In this work we address the problem of designing such a test. We focus on temperature accelerated life testing and we address the problems of setting the step duration and the stress levels.

Some characteristics of the biological optimum temperature
Journal of Thermal Biology, 1983Abstract 1. 1.|The concept of the biological optimum temperature (BOT) is developed. 2. 2.|BOT constitutes the ambient temperature ( T a ) at which the organism is expsed to minimum thermal stress. It can be derived from the relationship between ( T a ) and rectal temperature as well as between ( T a ) and the level of energy ...

On Optimum Control of Temperature Distribution in a Solid†
Journal of Electronics and Control, 1963The paper describes a method of determining the switching instants for the input to a particular distiibutod-parameter system, namely a metal slab which is heated on one face and has tho opposite face insulated. The switching instants are determined on the basis of achieving a desired uniform temperature in the slab in tho shortest possible time, given
