Early Radial Extracorporeal Shockwave Stimulation on Proximal Tibial Circular Osteotomy Site Enhanced Heterotopic Skin Wound Healing via Small Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A schematic diagram of the mechanism where small extracellular vesicles mediate the enhancement of heterotopic wound healing by radial extracorporeal shockwave stimulation at a proximal tibial osteotomy site. ABSTRACT Wound healing represents a complex biological process necessitating innovative therapeutic approaches, particularly for chronic wounds ...

Detection of Human Herpesvirus Type-1 Antigen in Tissues of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma by Direct Immunofluorecent Assay

open access: yesDiyala Journal of Medicine, 2019
Background: Human herpesvirus is a large enveloped DNA virus and significant human pathogen. Many studies examined oral squamous cell carcinoma for herpes simplex virus and suggested an association with this virus; others have demonstrated human ...

T Cell Exhaustion in Cancer Immunotherapy: Heterogeneity, Mechanisms, and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
T cell exhaustion limits immunotherapy efficacy. This article delineates its progression from stem‐like to terminally exhausted states, governed by persistent antigen, transcription factors, epigenetics, and metabolism. It maps the exhaustion landscape in the TME and proposes integrated reversal strategies, providing a translational roadmap to overcome

Identification and characterization of dysregulated P-element induced wimpy testis-interacting RNAs in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
It is clear that alcohol consumption is a major risk factor in the pathogenesis of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC); however, the molecular mechanism underlying the pathogenesis of alcohol-associated HNSCC remains poorly understood.

ADAMTS9‐AS2 Disrupts Docetaxel‐Resistance in Castration‐Resistant Prostate Cancer via Stemness Suppression and Ferroptosis Induction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovered a dual‐track mechanism by which ADAMTS9‐AS2 overcame chemoresistance in CRPC: suppressing cancer stemness through the FOXF2/TGF‐β2 pathway, and triggering ferroptosis via competitive SLC7A11 sequestration. Polymeric materials co‐targeting these vulnerabilities further boost docetaxel sensitivity, highlighting a compelling strategy ...

Ouabain signaling in oral squamous cell carcinoma cells

open access: yesJournal of Oral Science, 2019
Accurate evaluation of the anti-cancer effects of ouabain, a cardiac glycoside, requires an understanding of its signaling pathway. This study examined the effects of ouabain stimulation on spontaneous interleukin (IL)-8 and IL-1α secretion in the HSC3 oral squamous cell carcinoma cell line.

Alcohol-dysregulated miR-30a and miR-934 in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
BackgroundAlcohol consumption is a well-established risk factor for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC); however, the molecular mechanisms by which alcohol promotes HNSCC pathogenesis and progression remain poorly understood.

Selective Targeting of Immune Checkpoints HLA‐G and CD47 Using Novel Dual Signaling Protein DSP216 Promotes Innate Anticancer Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The inhibitory immune checkpoints HLA‐G and CD47 are expressed on certain tumor types and inhibit immune cells in the tumor microenvironment. DSP216 binds specifically to cancer cells expressing both HLA‐G and CD47, and blocks their inhibitory signaling.
