Orbital evolution of a particle around a black hole: II. Comparison of contributions of spin-orbit coupling and the self force

open access: yes, 2003
We consider the evolution of the orbit of a spinning compact object in a quasi-circular, planar orbit around a Schwarzschild black hole in the extreme mass ratio limit. We compare the contributions to the orbital evolution of both spin-orbit coupling and

Inhibition of acyl‐CoA synthetase long‐chain isozymes decreases multiple myeloma cell proliferation and causes mitochondrial dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Triacsin C inhibition of the acyl‐CoA synthetase long chain (ACSL) family decreases multiple myeloma cell survival, proliferation, mitochondrial respiration, and membrane potential. Made with Biorender.com. Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable cancer of plasma cells with a 5‐year survival rate of 59%.

An intelligent interface for satellite operations: Your Orbit Determination Assistant (YODA) [PDF]

open access: yes
An intelligent interface is often characterized by the ability to adapt evaluation criteria as the environment and user goals change. Some factors that impact these adaptations are redefinition of task goals and, hence, user requirements; time ...

Pseudospin Conserving Shell Model Interactions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
Pseudospin symmetry is approximately conserved in nuclei. Normally shell model interactions are written in terms of spin an orbital angular momentum operators, not in terms of pseudospin and pseudo-orbital angular momentum operators. We determine the shell model interactions which conserve pseudospin symmetry and pseudo-orbital angular momentum ...

TRPM4 contributes to cell death in prostate cancer tumor spheroids, and to extravasation and metastasis in a zebrafish xenograft model system

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Transient receptor potential melastatin‐4 (TRPM4) is overexpressed in prostate cancer (PCa). Knockout of TRPM4 resulted in reduced PCa tumor spheroid size and decreased PCa tumor spheroid outgrowth. In addition, lack of TRPM4 increased cell death in PCa tumor spheroids.

Bistatic SAR Imaging and Precise Orbit Determination Using Geostationary Telecommunication Satellites

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
SAR satellite missions from geostationary orbits (GEOSAR) would offer the short revisit times required in the observation of fast phenomena. Ground-based multiple baseline interferometry is a technique under study for precise orbit determination of GEO ...

A geometric model for Hochschild homology of Soergel bimodules

open access: yes, 2007
An important step in the calculation of the triply graded link homology theory of Khovanov and Rozansky is the determination of the Hochschild homology of Soergel bimodules for SL(n).

$λ$-stability of periodic billiard orbits [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We introduce a new notion of stability for periodic orbits in polygonal billiards. We say that a periodic orbit of a polygonal billiard is $\lambda$-stable if there is a periodic orbit for the corresponding pinball billiard which converges to it as $\lambda$ $\rightarrow$ 1.
