Orbital angular momentum states of light
2020This book provides an in-depth introduction to modelling of long-range propagation of orbital angular momentum modes as well as more general structured light beams through atmospheric turbulence. It is a stand-alone reference material and is well suited to graduate students and researchers in optics and photonics.

Dividing orbital angular momentum of light
2016 15th International Conference on Optical Communications and Networks (ICOCN), 2016For the first time, we put forward an orbital angular momentum (OAM) divider based on coordinate transformation. The device can convert the OAM light into multiple diffracted light. The OAM of zeroth-order diffracted light is the product of the input OAM and the scaling parameter. We also extend the scheme to realize equal N-dividing of OAM.

Subwavelength Focusing of Light with Orbital Angular Momentum
Nano Letters, 2014The spatial structure of light with Orbital Angular Momentum, or "twisted light", closely resembles the shape of atomic wave functions. It could therefore make symmetry-forbidden transitions possible in quantum dots, or "artificial atoms". However, the vanishing intensity in the center of an OAM beam usually makes this effect weak.

Arbitrary spin-to–orbital angular momentum conversion of light
Science, 2017From spins to spirals The polarization state of light can be used in imaging applications and optical communications. Light can also be structured into vortices that carry optical angular momentum, which can be used for micromanipulation and enhancing the capacity of optical communication channels. Devlin et al.

Measuring the orbital angular momentum of light
SPIE Proceedings, 2011We report a new simple optical system for the highly efficient measurement of the Orbital Angular Momentum States of Light. It uses an image reformatter to map each input state onto a different lateral position in the output aperture. This, near perfect, separation of states potentially makes available the high information capacity of OAM in both ...

Measurement of light's orbital angular momentum
2013The desire to increase the amount of information that can be encoded onto a single photon has driven research in many areas of optics. One such area is the study of the orbital angular momentum (OAM) carried by a light beam. These beams have helical phase-fronts and carry an orbital angular momentum of l_hbar per photon, where the integer l is ...

Interferometric Measurement of Orbital Angular Momentum of Light
Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science APS/DLS, 2019We provide the experimental evidence of orbital angular momentum Hall effect of light and present two different experimental strategies to quantify the Hall effect-induced change in orbital angular momentum and the phase structure of the beam.
