DYES IN FOOD AND DRUGS ARE POTENTIAL IMMUNOMODULATORS
There are some data about various immunopathology effects of food dyes. Their use in food and medicines may induce hypersensitivity, which is regarded as a side effect of drugs or intolerance to food substances.

Time-Dependent Charge-Order and Spin-Order Recovery in Striped Systems
Using time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau theory, we study the role of amplitude and phase fluctuations in the recovery of charge and spin stripe phases in response to a pump pulse that melts the orders.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Pricing Mortgages: An Interpretation of the Models and Results [PDF]
Mortgages, like all debt securities, can be viewed as risk-free assets plus or minus contingent claims that can be usefully viewed as options. The most important options are: prepayment, which is a call option giving the borrower the right to buy back ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Introduction. Treatment methods for multiple myeloma are diverse, but achieving remission is problematic. Thalidomide analogues and proteosome inhibitors are of interest in the treatment of the disease, but their use is limited due to the risk of a wide ...
