Horton’s law of stream widths in China and its association with climate

open access: yesJournal of Hydrology: Regional Studies, 2023
Study region: Nine Chinese major basins Study focus: To create a manually measured stream width dataset in the study region; To investigate the applicability and the spatial variation of Horton’s stream width-order relations where Wω̅=a×ebω).

Relation between birth order and interpersonal styles

open access: yesInteração em Psicologia, 2009
Interpersonal style is an aspect of personality related to the particular way individuals participate and gain influence in social contexts. It has its origin in childhood’s first social interactions within the family group.

Fuzzy-Relation-Based Lexicographic Minimum Solution to the P2P Network System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In the existing work in the literature, the addition-min fuzzy relation inequalities was applied to describe a peer-to-peer (P2P) network system. In such a model, the total download traffic of a terminal was considered.

Quasi-Order Hypergroups and T-Hypergroups

open access: yesRatio Mathematica, 2017
Quasi-order hypergroups were introduced by J. Chvalina in 90s of the last century. They form a subclass of the class of all hypergroups, i.e. structures with one associative hyperoperation fulfilling the reproduction axiom.

An Alternating Sum of Fibonacci and Lucas Numbers of Order k

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
During the last decade, many researchers have focused on proving identities that reveal the relation between Fibonacci and Lucas numbers. Very recently, one of these identities has been generalized to the case of Fibonacci and Lucas numbers of order k ...

Relational Theory of Risk and Its Applications to Game Theory Problems of Non-Numerical Economics

open access: yesСтатистика и экономика, 2021
The purpose of the work is to study the foundations of a general risk theory. To form a single formal concept of risk, a number of definitions of the term “risk” found in the literature have been analyzed.

Dispersive properties of high order nedelec/edge element approximation of the time-harmonic Maxwell equations

open access: yes, 2004
The dispersive behaviour of high-order Næ#169;dæ#169;lec element approximation of the time harmonic Maxwell equations at a prescribed temporal frequency ω on tensor-product meshes of size h is analysed.

A note on periodic linear recurrence relations [PDF]

open access: yesNotes on Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics
We provide an elementary proof of the fact that a sequence defined by a linear recurrence relation with integer coefficients is periodic if and only if all characteristic roots are distinct roots of unity.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Another six Fibonacci-like sequences [PDF]

open access: yesNotes on Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics
We briefly describe six Fibonacci-like sequences or arbitrary order that give rise to a periodic or eventually periodic sequences. We provide some examples and demonstrate the explicit periods of these sequences.
