Limit Theory for Joint Generalized Order Statistics
In Kamps [7] generalized order statistics (gos) have been introduced as a unifying theme for several models of ascendingly ordered random variables (rv’s).

On asymptotic correlation coefficient for some order statistics
By the relationship between a continuous population X and the uniform distribution U[0,1], we gain for a sample quantile an equivalent expression of its variance and for two different sample quantiles the asymptotic correlation coefficient.

Characterizations of probability distributions via bivariate regression of generalized order statistics [PDF]
Let Xi,n,m,k, i = 1, ...,n are n generalized order statistics (gos) based on an absolutely continuous distribution function F. Suppose that ?

Predicting future order statistics with random sample size
We suggest a new method for constructing an efficient point predictor for the future order statistics when the sample size is a random variable. The suggested point predictor is based on some characterization properties of the distributions of order ...

Order statistics of 1/f^{\alpha} signals [PDF]
Order statistics of periodic, Gaussian noise with 1/f^{\alpha} power spectrum is investigated. Using simulations and phenomenological arguments, we find three scaling regimes for the average gap d_k= between the k-th and (k+1)-st largest values of the ...

Dispersive order comparisons on extreme order statistics from homogeneous dependent random vectors
In this paper, we investigate sufficient conditions for preservation property of the dispersive order for the smallest and largest order statistics of homogeneous dependent random vectors.

In this work we derive the exact joint distribution of a linear combination of concomitants of order statistics and linear combinations of their order statistics in a multivariate normal distribution.

Order statistics in control charts construction
Order statistics are applied in construction of control charts that are used in statistical process control. Control charts monitor the average process level, volatility or extreme values: maximum and minimum.

Expected values and standard deviations of order statistics from a logistic distribution are given for sample sizes $n = 1,2, \cdots, 10$ and $n = 15, 20, 50$, and 100, and summarized in graphs to facilitate interpolation to other sample sizes. For $n \leqq 10$ the results are compared with asymptotic approximations.

Upcrossing Rates for Order Statistics Processes
In this paper, we define new random processes as the pointwise order statistics of a set of random processes. We derive the upcrossing rates of the order statistics processes in closed form.
