Topological materials or structures: Origin of higher-order topological states
Higher-order topological states (HOTS) have been extensively investigated in classical wave systems. They do not exist in the band gaps of infinite materials, while exhibit as the in-gap localized modes once the infinite materials are truncated to be the finite structures. Here, we will experimentally reveal the origin of HOTSs in acoustic systems.

Topological Structures Induced by General Fuzzy Automata Based on Lattice-ordered Monoid
The fundamental role of algebraic properties in the development of the basics of computer science has led researchers to study the concepts of fuzzy automaton separatedness, connectedness, and reversibility on a large scale. In this paper, the general ...

Curvature-Controlled Topological Defects
Effectively, two-dimensional (2D) closed films exhibiting in-plane orientational ordering (ordered shells) might be instrumental for the realization of scaled crystals. In them, ordered shells are expected to play the role of atoms.

Entanglement entropy of (3+1)D topological orders with excitations [PDF]
Excitations in (3+1)D topologically ordered phases have very rich structures. (3+1)D topological phases support both point-like and string-like excitations, and in particular the loop (closed string) excitations may admit knotted and linked structures ...

Atomic-scale characterization of two-dimensional magnets and their heterostructures
The realization of long-range magnetic ordering in two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals systems significantly expands the scope of the 2D family as well as their possible spin-related phenomena and device applications.

Atomic layer epitaxy of kagome magnet Fe3Sn2 and Sn-modulated heterostructures
Magnetic materials with kagome crystal structure exhibit rich physics, such as frustrated magnetism, skyrmion formation, topological flat bands, and Dirac/Weyl points. Until recently, most studies on kagome magnets have been performed on bulk crystals or

Interactions between spherical nanoparticles optically trapped in Laguerre-Gaussian modes [PDF]
When a Laguerre-Gaussian (LG) laser mode is used to trap nanoparticles, the spatial disposition of the particles about the beam axis is determined by a secondary mechanism that engages the input radiation with the interparticle potential.

CONTINUOUS ORDER REPRESENTABILITY PROPERTIES OF TOPOLOGICAL SPACES AND ALGEBRAIC STRUCTURES [PDF]
In the present paper, we study the relationship between con- tinuous order-representability and the fulllment of the usual covering properties on topological spaces. We also consider the case of some al- gebraic structures providing an application of our results to the social choice theory context.
