For organ preservation in Europe the Euro-Collins-, UW- and HTK-solution are preferred. While the HTK-solution is mainly used for heart preservation, the UW-solution has shown its advantages for longterm preservation of kidney, liver and pancreas. With regard to renal preservation the HTK-solution provides a higher buffer capacity.
