Catalytic enantioselective synthesis of quaternary carbon stereocentres. [PDF]
Quaternary carbon stereocentres-carbon atoms to which four distinct carbon substituents are attached-are common features of molecules found in nature. However, before recent advances in chemical catalysis, there were few methods of constructing single ...

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Amphiphilic Nanographene With Aggregation‐Induced Type‐I Photodynamic Properties
Fluorescent graphene quantum dots (GQDs) have emerged as promising phototheranostic agents. However, most of the reported GQDs only show Type‐II photodynamic (PD) effect, which is not effective in the hypoxic tumor interior. Moreover, little is known yet

Distribution of Organic Carbon in the Sediments of Xinxue River and the Xinxue River Constructed Wetland, China. [PDF]
Wetland ecosystems are represented as a significant reservoir of organic carbon and play an important role in mitigating the greenhouse effect. In order to compare the compositions and distribution of organic carbon in constructed and natural river ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Carbon isotope anomaly in the major plant C-1 pool and its global biogeochemical implications [PDF]
We report that the most abundant C-1 units of terrestrial plants, the methoxyl groups of pectin and lignin, have a unique carbon isotope signature exceptionally depleted in C-13.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

The H/C Molar Ratio and Its Potential Pitfalls for Determining Biochar's Permanence
Biochar carbon removal (BCR) is widely recognized as a globally feasible technique for removing CO2 from the atmosphere and storing carbon in a stable form within the environment.

Silicate weathering and carbon cycle controls on the Oligocene-Miocene transition glaciation [PDF]
Changes in both silicate weathering rates and organic carbon burial have been proposed as drivers of the transient “Mi-1” glaciation event at the Oligocene-Miocene transition (OMT; ~23 Ma).
