Long-Term Organic Amendment Regimes Reshape Soil Micro-Food Web Structure and Multitrophic Co-Occurrence Networks in a Wheat–Maize Rotation

open access: yesAgronomy
Organic amendments can improve soil C storage, nutrient availability, and crop production, particularly in purple soils with low organic matter and weak nutrient retention. They may also alter soil micro-food web processes.

Thymosin Alpha‐1 Provides Direct Neuroprotection by Engaging the Orexin Receptor HCRTR1 to Suppress Neuronal Necroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we unveil a thymus‐brain endocrine axis wherein Tα1 engages HCRTR1 to inhibit RIPK3‐mediated necroptosis. This study nominates the Tal‐HCRTR1‐RIPK3 axis as a potent and clinically translatable therapeutic target for stroke and neurodegeneration.

Soil chemical responses to fertilization, with or without a cover crop, in an olive orchard in southwestern Buenos Aires (Argentina)

open access: yesLilloa
Our objective was to study the effect of fertilization on soil chemical traits on an olive orchard (artificially irrigated), considering areas with or without a cover crop, in southwestern Buenos Aires, Argentina, during the period 2020/2021 ...

Molecular Editing Reveals a Bilobalide Chemotype that Attenuates Prolyl Endopeptidase (PREP)‐Linked Neuroinflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Molecular editing of bilobalide uncovers BB56, a PREP‐engaging chemotype with enhanced anti‐inflammatory activity in microglia. Integrated CETSA‐MS, SAR, and pathway analyses link BB56 to attenuation of p38 MAPK/NF‐κB and NLRP3‐associated inflammatory signaling, highlighting bilobalide editing as a strategy for developing neuroinflammation‐modulating ...

Multi‐tissue Metabolic GWAS and Drought‐Responsive Multi‐omics Reveal the Genetic Basis of the Quinoa Metabolome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multi‐omics framework combining multitissue genome‐wide association studies, metabolomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and functional validation uncovers the genetic basis of specialized metabolism in quinoa. The study identifies hundreds of metabolite‐associated loci, prioritizes candidate genes for saponin, betalain, and flavonoid biosynthesis ...

SiDT1 Defines Plant Architecture Reminiscent of Green Revolution in Foxtail Millet

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SiDT1 encodes a GA3‐oxidase that creates a semi‐dwarf, lodging‐resistant architecture reminiscent of the rice Green Revolution. The resulting ideotype performs well under dense planting and provides a valuable genetic resource for high‐yield, mechanized foxtail millet production. ABSTRACT Foxtail millet (Setaria italica) is a drought‐tolerant C4 cereal

Single‐cell Transcriptome Profiling Reveals Gene Regulatory Networks and Key Genes in the Root Epidermis and Cortical Cells Associated with Early Nodulation in Glycine Max

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell transcriptomics of soybean roots soon after rhizobial inoculation reveals epidermal and cortical cell‐specific programs and gene‐regulatory networks acting in symbiosis establishment. We identify an ethylene‐driven regulatory circuit involving WRKY6.3/6.4 transcription factors targeting select Nod19 genes that promotes infection‐thread ...

Impact of long-term organic and mineral fertilization on lucerne forage yield over an 8-year period

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2016
Effects of direct fertilization on lucerne (Medicago sativa L.)forage yield have been widely investigated;however there is a lack of published studies investigating the long-term effect of indirect application of mineral and organic fertilization.

A Global Methane Observation System to Reduce Uncertainty for Anthropogenic and Natural Sources and Sinks for Detecting and Attributing Climate Feedbacks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conceptual illustration of a Global Ecosystem Methane Observing System (GEM‐OS) integrating satellites, aircraft, atmospheric networks, and ecosystem measurements to quantify methane emissions from anthropogenic and natural sources. The multi‐scale observing framework improves source attribution, reduces uncertainty in regional methane budgets, and ...
