SIMULATION EXPERIMENT OF ORGANIC FARMING SYSTEM: CHANGES OF SOIL ORGANIC CARBON AND MICROBIAL COMMUNITIES BY ORGANIC FERTILIZATION [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Soil beneficial microbe products are allowed to apply in organic farming system as soil amendment. Effects of different organic fertilization on soil organic carbon (SOC) and microbes were analyzed in this study in order to improve fertilization ...

Family organization and fertility limitation in Nepal [PDF]

open access: yesDemography, 1992
Abstract This paper uses the family mode of organization framework to link together hypotheses relating social change to fertility limitation. Experiences in nonfamily activities are predicted to affect fertility behavior, with the outcome depending on the social, economic, and cultural context.

Revolutionising Agricultural Sustainability: New ‘Furrow Tillage’ can Mitigate Short‐Term Soil‐to‐Atmosphere CO2 Flux and Promote Soil‐Plant‐Microbe Health

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Furrow tillage resolves the conventional‐vs.‐no‐tillage trade‐off by simultaneously cutting CO2 efflux to 2.0–3.0 g C m−2 d−1 and unlocking high nutrient availability for the rice rhizosphere. This scalable agronomic solution strengthens soil health, enhances plant physiology, reshapes microbial metabolism, and shifts paddy systems toward a net ...

Moderate organic–inorganic fertilization optimizes soybean productivity by reshaping rhizosphere microbiome–metabolite networks

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
Soybean, a key oilseed and fodder crop, is pivotal for national food security in China. And sustainable soybean production requires fertilization strategies that enhance yield while restoring rhizosphere ecological function.

Eucalyptus obliqua seedling growth in organic versus mineral soil horizons

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2015
Eucalyptus obliqua, the most widespread timber tree in Tasmania, is a pioneer after fire which can eliminate the organic layer of forest soil, exposing the underlying mineral soil.

A Sustainable Bio‐Based Epoxy Thermoset as a High‐Performance Alternative to BPA‐Based Resins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rigid–flexible bio‐based epoxy network integrates soybean oil, lignin, and maleic anhydride to overcome the strength–toughness–sustainability trade‐off of conventional BPA epoxy. The thermoset delivers excellent performance as both a structural adhesive and a matrix for glass‐fabric composites, while enabling pH‐responsive degradation, environmental ...

Organic Viticulture in Europe

open access: yes, 2002
Introduction Organic agriculture is a thriving sector in Europe, and in some countries 10 % of the agricultural area is organic. Not so, however, for organic viticulture: the percentage of organic viticulture land compared to all vineyards is lower than

Synchronized Imaging of Hydrogen Peroxide and Hydroxyl Radical in Pyroptosis and Epilepsy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐responsive fluorescent probe, HH, enables synchronized visualization of H2O2 and •OH through spectrally resolved green and red channels. By tracking redox dynamics in pyroptosis and epilepsy models, HH reveals ROS elevation during seizure‐like pathology and supports evaluation of antioxidant and antiepileptic therapeutic interventions.

Reducing the Accumulation of Antibiotic Resistance Genes (ARGs) in Soil Through Organic Manure Amendment Combined with Mineral Drip Fertigation in a Semi-Arid Region

open access: yesAgronomy
Combining basal organic manure amendment with mineral drip fertigation sustains soil productivity in water-limited agroecosystems, yet its complex impact on the accumulation risks of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) requires careful evaluation. However,

Deep‐Learning‐Driven High‐Fidelity In Vivo Hyperspectral Fluorescence Imaging Under Extreme Photon‐Limited Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Highly overlapping fluorescent signals become distinguishable in photon‐limited living organisms via advanced imaging with intelligent reconstruction. The resulting in vivo hyperspectral imaging capability reveals nanoplastic uptake and circulation in live zebrafish, providing a new approach for studying complex biological and environmental processes ...
