Occurrence and daily intake of ochratoxin A of organic and non-organic rice and rice products

International Journal of Food Microbiology, 2006
Ochratoxin A (OTA) was extracted from 84 rice samples and rice products by using accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) and analysed with liquid chromatography coupled with fluorescence detection. Samples were collected from rice cultivars, local markets and supermarkets; 64 were of non-organic and 20 of organic production.

Organ Redifferentiation and Plant Restoration in Rice Callus

Nature, 1968
RESEARCH into organ redifferentiation from the callus of dicotyledonous plants has recently increased, but work on such redifferentiation from monocotyledons is still rare. Rice1 and oat2 callus induction has been successful; oat callus on media containing no auxin has redifferentiated into large numbers of shoots and a few roots2.

Mutations associated with floral organ number in rice

Planta, 1996
How floral organ number is specified is an interesting subject and has been intensively studied in Arabidopsis thaliana. In rice (Oryza sativa L.), mutations associated with floral organ number have been identified. In three mutants of rice, floral organ number 1 (fon1) and the two alleles, floral organ number 2-1 (fon2-1) and floral organ number 2-2 ...

Organic phosphorus in Madagascan rice soils

Geoderma, 2006
AbstractAs a first step towards assessing the contribution of organic phosphorus to rice nutrition, the chemical nature of phosphorus in arange of Madagascan rice soils was determined by NaOH–EDTA extraction and solution 31 P nuclear magnetic resonancespectroscopy. A considerable proportion of the extractable phosphorus occurred in organic forms (19–44%
