Mean Serum Creatine Kinase among Organophosphate Poisoning Cases in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study

open access: yesJournal of Nepal Medical Association, 2022
Introduction: Major cases of poisoning are associated with organophosphates. Cholinergic effects and an intermediate phase seen with organophosphate poisoning may implicate myopathy. Creatine kinase is a marker of muscle tissue damage.

Organophosphate esters in indoor dust from 12 countries: Concentrations, composition profiles, and human exposure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A total of 20 organophosphate triesters (OPEs), including seven alkyl-OPEs, three chlorinated (Cl)-OPEs, seven aryl-OPEs, and three oligomeric-OPEs were measured in 341 house dust samples collected from 12 countries during the period 2010-2014. OPEs were

In Situ Photopolymerization of Smectic B Liquid‐Crystalline Electrolytes from Mesogenic Phosphate–Diacrylate/Ionic Liquid Complexes for High‐Performance Soft Ionic Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A flexible liquid‐crystalline electrolyte membrane via in situ photopolymerization of a phosphate‐functionalized mesogen, ionic liquid, and diacrylate monomer is developed. The resulting smectic B (SmB)‐phase structure enables 2D ion transport with high conductivity (10−4 S cm−1).

Inhibition of Muscle-Specific Protein Kinase (MuSK) Releases Organophosphate-Aged Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) from C2C12 Cells

open access: yesToxics
Mechanistically, OPs inhibit acetylcholinesterase (AChE), an enzyme that terminates cholinergic transmission, triggering a sustained activation of acetylcholine receptors.

Strategies for the control of Rhipicephalus microplus ticks in a world of conventional acaricide and macrocyclic lactone resistance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Infestations with the cattle tick, Rhipicephalus microplus, constitute the most important ectoparasite problem for cattle production in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide, resulting in major economic losses. The control of R.

A Whiff of Garlic, a Turn of Fate: Recognizing Organophosphorus Poisoning Amid Diagnostic Uncertainty: A Case Report. [PDF]

open access: yesClin Case Rep
ABSTRACT OP compounds, commonly used as pesticides, are readily available over the counter and frequently implicated in intentional poisoning. We report a case of a 43‐year‐old male with OP poisoning initially misdiagnosed as alcohol intoxication. He was intubated in the emergency department on arrival due to a low Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) of 6/15 and ...

Bisphenol B Exposure Induces Miscarriage by Suppressing Migration/Invasion and Migrasome Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BPB (Bisphenol B) exposure up‐regulates ER (estrogen receptor) levels, enhances its interactions with the lnc‐HZ04 promoter region, and thus promotes ER‐mediated lnc‐HZ04 transcription. Subsequently, lnc‐HZ04 suppresses TCF4 (transcription factor 4)‐mediated PKCA (protein kinase C alpha) transcription and subsequently suppresses migration/invasion and ...

Organophosphite Antioxidants in Indoor Dust Represent an Indirect Source of Organophosphate Esters.

open access: yesEnvironmental Science and Technology, 2019
Precise determination of organophosphate esters (OPEs) in the environment is crucial to estimating their potential toxicity effects on human health. Previous studies have mainly focused on OPEs from direct sources.
