Gaining Insights on the Interactions of a Class of Decorated (2‐([2,2′‐Bipyridin]‐6‐yl)phenyl)platinum Compounds with c‐Myc Oncogene Promoter G‐Quadruplex and Other DNA Structures

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 28, Issue 54, September 27, 2022., 2022
Hooked on c‐myc: A series of organoplatinum(II) compounds with diverse amino‐acid‐inspired side‐chains exhibit high affinity and binding selectivity for the c‐myc G‐quadruplex, along with significant emission enhancement and optical selectivity for this target vs. other DNA topologies.

Single‐Molecule Mechanoresistivity by Intermetallic Bonding

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 6, February 3, 2025.
A novel method to impart mechanoresistive behaviour to molecular junctions is described in this contribution, relying on metal‐ion interactions between Au electrodes and the Pt(II) centre of cyclometalated molecular wires. Junctions can be cycled between the low‐conductance and high‐conductance state by mechanical compression and relaxation, with ...

Metalla‐Carbaporphyrinoids Consisting of an Acyclic N‐Confused Tetrapyrrole Analogue Served as Stable Near‐Infrared‐II Dyes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 136, Issue 23, June 3, 2024.
Breaking the tetrapyrrolic π‐skeleton and implementing N‐confusion modification offer a distinctive ligand platform for metalla‐carbaporphyrinoid species. Through d‐π orbital interaction, the resultant open‐ring Pd/Pt complexes demonstrate near‐infrared‐II absorption capability and high photothermal conversion efficiency. Abstract We present herein the

Computational Studies of ArPtII(NCN) (NCN = Pincer) Reactivity toward Diiodine: Electrophilic Cleavage by a Singlet Pathway or Oxidative Addition by a Radical Pathway?

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 24, August 29, 2025.
A free radical chain reaction occurs for the oxidation of PhPtII(NCN) by diiodine in benzene (NCN = [2,6‐bis{(dimethylamino)methyl}phenyl‐N,C,N]−). Initiation provides [PhPtIII(NCN)]• from PhPtII(NCN)(η1‐I2), followed by formation of binuclear species [PhPt(NCN)Pt–I···I–PtPh(NCN)I]• that undergo internal electron transfer to form cis‐PhPtIV(NCN)I2 and ...

Single‐Molecule Multi‐Channel Conductance Assisted by Through‐Space Conjugation

open access: yesSmartMat, Volume 6, Issue 3, June 2025.
Through‐space (TS) conjugation has been recognized as an effective charge transport channel in molecular electronics. In‐depth understanding of functions and mechanisms of TS channels in multi‐channel circuits is of high importance. This review introduces advances in charge transport systems from a molecular topology perspective, focusing on multi ...

Molecular Rectangles Featuring Two Parallel NCN‐Coordinated Platinum Units: Enhancing Near‐Infrared Emission Through Excimer Formation

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 31, Issue 26, May 8, 2025.
Macro‐cycling into the near‐infrared: By incorporating two cyclometallated Pt(II) units into opposite sides of a molecular rectangle, the formation of near‐infrared‐emitting excited states that span the two units is promoted in solution, compared to the corresponding, acyclic, tweezer‐like complexes. A degree of molecular reorganization is nevertheless

Computational Study of Equilibria Formed by Diiodine (I2) and the Pincer Complex [2,6‐bis{(Me2NCH2)2}C6H3]PtIII: Intramolecular Mobility of I2 Using ′Pt‐I2′, ′Pt‐I ⋅ ⋅ ⋅ I2′ and ′Cpara ⋅ ⋅ ⋅ I2′ Species

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 27, Issue 26, September 11, 2024.
Mobility of diiodine (I2) over the pincer plane is elucidated by DFT for the interaction of I2 with Pt(NCN)I (NCN=2,6‐bis(dimethylamino)methyl)}phenyl‐N,C,N]−) in dichloromethane. A ′I ⋅ Pt ⋅ I−I′ three‐centred transition state across the Pt−I bond enables movement of I2 from a ′Pt−I ⋅ ⋅ ⋅ I2′ motif to a ′Pt(η1‐I2)′ motif, and transient interaction ...

On the cogent formulation of an elastomeric silicone ink material for direct ink write (DIW) 3D printing

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, Volume 64, Issue 6, Page 2476-2490, June 2024.
A cogent formulation study is described to optimize direct ink writing 3D printing with the right Ink gel kinetics and curing for large‐scale DIW manufacturing. The thermal, thermo‐mechanical, dielectric stability properties of DIW 3D printed parts are reported.
