Stabilisation of PVC with organotellurium compounds

Polymer Degradation and Stability, 1988
Abstract Organotellurium compounds are shown to behave similarly to organotin compounds as thermal and UV stabilisers for PVC. The most effective of these, the dialkyltellurium maleates, were, however, less effective than the corresponding tin compounds but the study points the way to further progress in the design of organometallic compounds as PVC ...

Thermodynamics of organoselenium and organotellurium compounds

Russian Chemical Reviews, 1995
Experimental values of the enthalpies of formation (ΔHf°) and of the specific heat (Cp°) of the organic compounds of selenium and tellurium, are discussed, including their complexes with dialkylzinc and dialkylcadmium. Different forms of the methods of combustion enthalpy and of reaction calorimetry, used to determine ΔHf° values, are examined.

Antioxidative properties of organotellurium compounds in cell systems

Biochemical Pharmacology, 1998
The protective/antioxidative properties of diaryl tellurides were demonstrated in cellular systems of increasing complexity. In the presence of glutathione, bis(4-hydroxyphenyl) telluride (1a), bis(4-aminophenyl) telluride (1d) and bis(2-carboxyphenyl) telluride (1h) reduced by more than 50% t-butyl hydroperoxide-induced cell death in lung fibroblast ...

Organoselenium and organotellurium compounds containing chalcogen-oxygen bonds in organic synthesis or related processes

Physical Sciences Reviews, 2018
This chapter emphasizes aspects related to the role of organochalcogen (Se, Te) compounds with single E‒O and/or double E=O (E=Se, Te) bonds in organic synthesis, as reagents, intermediates, or catalysts, and it gives a larger extent mainly to data ...

Organotellurium Compounds 8. Aryltellurols as Reducing Agents

Synthetic Communications, 1984
Abstract Phenyltellurol and 2-thienyltellurol, generated in situ, have been found to act as selective reductants towards a number of representative organic substrates.

Organotellurium compounds as stabilizers for polymeric materials

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1996
The thermal stability of a series of organotellurium compounds was determined by thermogravimetric analysis and the stabilizing capacity of the most heat-resistant compounds assessed in natural rubber, polyethylene, and polypropylene by measurement of ...

Specific features of the reactivity of organotellurium compounds

Russian Chemical Reviews, 1995
The characteristic features of the reactivity of the principal classes of organic compounds of tellurium(II) and tellurium(IV) are examined and compared with the analogous compounds of sulfur and selenium. The factors determing the specific features of the chemical behaviour of orgamotellurium compounds are characterised.

A Mössbauer study of organotellurium compounds. Part I

Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1976
Mössbauer data for a wide range of organotellurium compounds are reported, including compounds of the type: R2Te, Ar2Te, Ar2Te2, R2TeX2, Ar2TeX2, and ArTeX3; where R = alkyl, Ar = aryl, and X = Cl, Br, or I. The isomer shifts and quadrupole splittings are interpreted in terms of the relative populations of the tellurium 5s and 5p orbitals.

Organotellurium(IV) Compounds Containing Symmetric Imidobis(Diphenylphosphinechalcogenide) Ligands

Phosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements, 2001
The following compounds [C4H8Te(Ph2(S)PNP(S)Ph2)2] (1), [C4H8Tel(Ph2(S)PNP(S)Ph2)] (2), [C8H8Tel(Ph2(S)PNP(S)Ph2)] (3), [C4H8Tel(Ph2(Se)PNP(Se)Ph2)] (4), and [(C4H8TeOTeC4H8)2(Ph2(O)PNP(O)Ph2)2][I, I3] (5) were isolated from the reaction of C4H8Tel2 or C8H8Tel2 with the appropriate M[Ph2(X)PNP(X)Ph2] (M= K or Na; X= O, S and Se) salt.
