Organotin Compounds: Toxicokinetic Aspects

Drug Metabolism Reviews, 2004
Organotin compounds have a broad range of applications. While dialkyltin compounds are used primarily as stabilizers for plastics, trisubstituted organotins are mainly used as biocides e.g., as an active ingredient of marine antifouling paints for boats and ships.

Sulphur substituted organotin compounds

Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 1982
Charge-transfer interactions of Ph3SnCH2SC6H4X-p (X  MeO, Me, H, Cl or Br) with tetracyanoethylene are reported. Values of λmax, the absorption maxima, have been obtained and compared with the values for CH3SC6H4X-p(CN)2CC(CN)2 interactions. The effect of the Ph3Sn substituent is to shift λmax by 15–26 nm to longer wavelengths.

Polymeric organotin compounds

Journal of Polymer Science, 1961
AbstractOrganotin monomers and polymers are becoming of increasing importance. Of especial theoretical and practical interest are polymers of organotin materials. In the present report results are described of studies carried out in the Laboratory of Vinyl Compounds of the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences, USSR and in the ...

Chiral Organotin Compounds

Israel Journal of Chemistry, 1976
AbstractSeveral classes of organotin compounds are configurationally stable within the NMR time‐scale and are even optically stable for weeks. Optically active tetraorganotin compounds, triorganotin hydrides and an optically active (triorganogermyl)triorganotin compound have been synthesized.

Acute Nephropathy of Organotin Compounds

American Journal of Nephrology, 1993
Three patients who developed acute nephropathy following ingestion of triphenyltin acetate (TPTA) are described. All of them had significant proteinuria, azotemia, and polyuria. Mild neurological manifestations in all patients were also noted. Hematuria and pyuria were noted in 1 severely poisoned patient.

Ecotoxicology of Organotin Compounds

Critical Reviews in Toxicology, 1996
Organotin compounds are ubiquitous contaminants in the environment. The high biological activity of some compounds toward aquatic organisms lead to deleterious impacts in aquatic ecosystems. Here, the aquatic ecotoxicology of organotins is reviewed based on a multidisciplinary approach involving environmental chemical, toxicological, and ecological ...
