Structural Determinant of β-Amyloid Formation: From Transmembrane Protein Dimerization to β-Amyloid Aggregates

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2022
Most neurodegenerative diseases have the characteristics of protein folding disorders, i.e., they cause lesions to appear in vulnerable regions of the nervous system, corresponding to protein aggregates that progressively spread through the neuronal ...

Orientations of Mistaken Point Fronds Indicate Morphology Impacted Ability to Survive Turbulence

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2021
The Ediacaran fossils of the Mistaken Point E surface have provided crucial insight into early animal communities, including how they reproduced, the importance of Ediacaran height and what the most important factors were to their community dynamics ...

New bijective links on planar maps [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2008
This article describes new bijective links on planar maps, which are of incremental complexity and present original features. The first two bijections $\Phi _{1,2}$ are correspondences on oriented planar maps.

Minimum Entropy Orientations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We study graph orientations that minimize the entropy of the in-degree sequence. The problem of finding such an orientation is an interesting special case of the minimum entropy set cover problem previously studied by Halperin and Karp [Theoret.

Orienting Triangulations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Graph Theory, 2015
AbstractWe prove that any triangulation of a surface different from the sphere and the projective plane admits an orientation without sinks such that every vertex has outdegree divisible by three. This confirms a conjecture of Barát and Thomassen and is a step toward a generalization of Schnyder woods to higher genus surfaces.
