Improvement of the technology of obtaining stable (di)haploid regenerants from embryonic culture of apomictic sugar beet (Beta vulgaris) breeding material without the use of colchicine

open access: yesAgricultural Science and Practice, 2019
Aim. To evaluate the effi ciency of inducing generative, reduced parthenogenesis and to better use the differentiating potential of the embryo culture under apomictic seed production in selection materials of sugar beet with cytoplasmic male sterility ...

Deep Learning Pose Estimation for Phenotyping of Co‐Occurring Hyperkinetic Movement Disorders

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore whether routine outpatient video combined with deep learning‐based pose estimation and clinically interpretable kinematic features can support multi‐label phenotyping of co‐occurring hyperkinetic movement disorders (HMDs).

CSF Cytokine Network Organization Predicts Progression Independent of Relapse and MRI Activity in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Progression independent of relapse activity is a major determinant of long‐term disability in multiple sclerosis, but its immunopathologic basis remains incompletely understood. We investigated whether relapse‐independent progression in radiologically stable relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis is associated with distinct ...

White Matter and Perivascular Imaging Changes in Alzheimer's Disease and Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Peak‐width of skeletonized mean diffusivity (PSMD) and diffusion tensor imaging–analysis along the perivascular space (DTI‐ALPS), reflecting white matter integrity and glymphatic function, are altered in Alzheimer's disease (AD).

Evaluating the Combustion Performance of the Usual Timbers in Furniture Using a Grey Correlation Method Based on Thermolysis, Ignition, and Flame Spread

open access: yesFire
Timber is the most widely used material for furniture in view of its characteristics of light mass, high strength, easy processing, coloring, and decorative appearance.

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Is an Apple an Orange? A Large Language Model Benchmark for Candidate Term Extraction and Subclass Decisions Against Upper Ontologies in Engineering and Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Building machine‐readable vocabularies for materials science is slow, expert‐driven work. This study benchmarks 13 large language models on two of its first steps: finding candidate terms in engineering articles and deciding where they belong in a class hierarchy.

Integration of Local Wisdom Character Values and Creative Processes through Jumputan Batik Making in Fine Arts Learning at Elementary Schools

open access: yesJurnal Pembelajaran, Bimbingan, dan Pengelolaan Pendidikan
Art learning in elementary schools is important in fostering creativity and character, but it still tends to be oriented towards the end result and has not integrated the creative process and local wisdom values.

Biquasile colorings of oriented surface-links

open access: yesTopology and its Applications, 2018
We introduce colorings of oriented surface-links by biquasiles using marked graph diagrams. We use these colorings to define counting invariants and Boltzmann enhancements of the biquasile counting invariants for oriented surface-links. We provide examples to show that the invariants can distinguish both closed surface-links and cobordisms and are ...
