Artificial Flora (AF) Optimization Algorithm

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
Inspired by the process of migration and reproduction of flora, this paper proposes a novel artificial flora (AF) algorithm. This algorithm can be used to solve some complex, non-linear, discrete optimization problems.

Extended quantum conditional entropy and quantum uncertainty inequalities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Quantum states can be subjected to classical measurements, whose incompatibility, or uncertainty, can be quantified by a comparison of certain entropies. There is a long history of such entropy inequalities between position and momentum.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Strategies based on the quantitative global analysis of the concurrent position function [PDF]

open access: yes
The paper shows an original model describing in mathematical language the way in which the concurrent position of the product considered varies in time [0,T]. The model starts from Arthur D.

Constraints on Cardassian universe from Gamma ray bursts

open access: yes, 2009
Constraints on the original Cardassian model and the modified polytropic Cardassian model are examined from the recently derived 42 gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) data calibrated with the method avoiding the circularity problem.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Schwinger, Pegg and Barnett and a relationship between angular and Cartesian quantum descriptions

open access: yes, 2002
From a development of an original idea due to Schwinger, it is shown that it is possible to recover, from the quantum description of a degree of freedom characterized by a finite number of states (\QTR{it}{i.e}., without classical counterpart) the usual ...

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Redescription of the dasydytid gastrotrich Haltidytes ooëides (Brunson, 1950) based on type material

open access: yesZooKeys, 2018
The semi-pelagic gastrotrich species Haltidytes ooëides (Brunson, 1950) is redescribed based on original type material deposited at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.

Early dialectal diversity in South Slavic I [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The large majority of the isoglosses which can be established in the South Slavic dialectal area date from the time of the disintegration of Common Slavic and from more recent periods (e.g., Ivi´c 1958: 25ff).
