20세기초에 등장하여 미술사의 전환점을 이룬 입체파(Cubism)는 이후 전개될 여러 현대회화 운동에 커다란 영향을 미쳤다. 주제를 중첩된 시각을 통해 기하학적으로 재구성하는 이 운동은 오르피즘(Orphism)과 직접적인 연관을 맺고 있다. 오르피즘의 대표자인로베르 들로네(Robert Delaunay)가 입체파의 일원이 었고 또, 입체파의 기하학적 구성은 오르피즘 작가들의 작품속에서 기본적인 틀이 되고 있다.
