Spinors and Rodrigues Representations Associated with Orthogonal Polynomials
An effective approach is presented to produce Schrödinger-like equation for the spinor components from Dirac equation. Considering electrostatic potential as a constant value yields a second-order differential equation that is comparable with the well ...

Dominance and epistatic genetic variances for litter size in pigs using genomic models
Background Epistatic genomic relationship matrices for interactions of any-order can be constructed using the Hadamard products of orthogonal additive and dominance genomic relationship matrices and standardization based on the trace of the resulting ...

Investigation into the selection of viewing configurations for three-component planar Doppler velocimetry measurements. [PDF]
A method for the calculation of three orthogonal velocity components in planar Doppler velocimetry (PDV) using four or more measured velocity components (to the three typically used) is presented.

Network Code Design for Orthogonal Two-hop Network with Broadcasting Relay: A Joint Source-Channel-Network Coding Approach [PDF]
This paper addresses network code design for robust transmission of sources over an orthogonal two-hop wireless network with a broadcasting relay. The network consists of multiple sources and destinations in which each destination, benefiting the relay ...

Saliency from orthogonal velocity component in texture segregation
We found that a moving target line, more-vertical than 45 deg-oriented background lines, pops-out (d'=1.2) although it moves at the same speed of background elements and although it is invisible in static presentation (d'=.7). We suggest that the moving more-vertical target is more salient because the motion system responds to the orthogonal-velocity ...

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Symmetric equations on the surface of a sphere as used by model GISS:IB [PDF]
Standard vector calculus formulas of Cartesian three space are projected onto the surface of a sphere. This produces symmetric equations with three nonindependent horizontal velocity components.

Unified theory for Goos-H\"{a}nchen and Imbert-Fedorov effects
A unified theory is advanced to describe both the lateral Goos-H\"{a}nchen (GH) effect and the transverse Imbert-Fedorov (IF) effect, through representing the vector angular spectrum of a 3-dimensional light beam in terms of a 2-form angular spectrum ...

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Planar squeezing by quantum non-demolition measurement in cold atomic ensembles
Planar squeezed states, i.e. quantum states which are squeezed in two orthogonal spin components, have recently attracted attention due to their applications in atomic interferometry and quantum information (He et al 2012 New J. Phys. 14 093012).
