Polarization squeezing of light by single passage through an atomic vapor
We have studied relative-intensity fluctuations for a variable set of orthogonal elliptic polarization components of a linearly polarized laser beam traversing a resonant $^{87}$Rb vapor cell.

Vacuum structure in supersymmetric Yang-Mills theories with any gauge group [PDF]
We consider the pure supersymmetric Yang--Mills theories placed on a small 3-dimensional spatial torus with higher orthogonal and exceptional gauge groups. The problem of constructing the quantum vacuum states is reduced to a pure mathematical problem of

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Orthogonal Matrix Retrieval in Cryo-Electron Microscopy
In single particle reconstruction (SPR) from cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), the 3D structure of a molecule needs to be determined from its 2D projection images taken at unknown viewing directions.

Capacity of a class of symmetric relay networks with orthogonal components
In this study, the authors extend the concept of relay channel with orthogonal components to define a class of symmetric relay networks with orthogonal components named symmetric orthogonal relay network. In the defined network, the channels diverge from each node sender use different frequency bands whereas the channels converge to each node receiver ...

Immune‐Driven Expression in Inclusion Body Myositis With T‐Cell Large Granular Lymphocytic Leukemia
ABSTRACT Objectives T‐cell large granular lymphocytic leukemia (T‐LGLL), reported in up to 58% of inclusion body myositis (IBM) patients, is a rare leukemia of cytotoxic or less commonly helper T cells. The range of myopathies in T‐LGLL and the impact of coexisting T‐LGLL in IBM are not well understood. Our objectives are to investigate the spectrum of

User Grouping and Power Allocation for Downlink NOMA-Based Quadrature Spatial Modulation
Conventional non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA)-based spatial modulation (SM) systems utilize only the real part of amplitude-phase modulation (APM) symbols for transmission, but quadrature spatial modulation (QSM) can extend this to two orthogonal ...

Vector solitons in nearly-one-dimensional Bose-Einstein condensates
We derive a system of nonpolynomial Schroedinger equations (NPSEs) for one-dimensional wave functions of two components in a binary self-attractive Bose-Einstein condensate loaded in a cigar-shaped trap. The system is obtained by means of the variational
