Optimal orthogonal block designs for three-component symmetric general blending models in mixture experiment

open access: yesStatistical Theory and Related Fields
In mixture experiments, the observed response is determined by the relative proportions of the components, consequently rendering the experimental region a simplex.

Compressed Sensing Based Non-Orthogonal Pilot Designs for Multi-Antenna Grant-Free Access Systems

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, 2020
Grant-free access is an attractive approach to enable spectrum-efficient low-latency access for systems with massive number of users. Pilot design plays a crucial role for grant-free access as it needs to provide a large number of access codes with fast ...

The nonstandard algorithm for constructing efficient conjoint experimental designs [PDF]

open access: yesYugoslav Journal of Operations Research, 2008
Conjoint analysis is a research technique for measuring consumer preferences, and it is a method for simulating consumers' possible reactions to changes in current products or newly introduced products into an existing competitive market. One of the most

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Engineered ribosomes with tethered subunits for expanding biological function

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Ribo-T is a tethered ribosome complex capable of orthogonal ribosome-mRNA functionality, but has low activity. Here the authors evolve new tether designs that support faster growth and increased protein expression.

Ordered nanoporous carbon (CMK-3) coated fiber for solid-phase microextraction of benzene and chlorobenzenes in water samples [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Environmental Technology, 2018
Nanoporous carbons (CMK-3) were prepared and have been used as a fiber coating for headspace solid phase microextraction (HS-SPME). The prepared materials were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and N2 adsorption/

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

R Package DoE.base for Factorial Experiments

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2018
The R package DoE.base can be used for creating full factorial designs and general factorial experiments based on orthogonal arrays. Besides design creation, some analysis functionality is also available, particularly (augmented) half-normal effects ...

Use of orthogonal arrays and design of experiment via Taguchi L9 method in probability of default [PDF]

open access: yesAccounting, 2018
The Taguchi’s orthogonal array is based on a mathematical model of factorial designs. This paper investigates the effects of four parameters in Probability of Default (PD) using Black-Scholes model (BSM) for call option at one period by considering asset

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
