Sub-Carrier and Band Hopped Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) Systems

Wireless Personal Communications, 2008
This article proposes a novel way of grouping users in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communication link based on predefined criteria. The total available spectrum is divided into a number of bands equal to the number of groups. For efficient time-frequency resource allocation, sub-carrier and band hopping are used simultaneously.

Subcarrier allocation in multi-hop orthogonal frequency division multiple access wireless networks

Computers & Electrical Engineering, 2014
Graphical abstractDisplay Omitted We consider a multi-hop network situation instead of traditional two-hop topologies in OFDMA network. We adopt Tabu searching algorithm to reduce the possibility of choosing low-quality subcarriers. Our methods can combine the link groups with subcarrier groups in a global optimization method. Our proposed algorithms can ...

Block Allocation Strategy for Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO)–Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) System

Wireless Personal Communications, 2018
The challenge of next generation mobile wireless networks necessitates efficient usage of available spectrum. The multiple input multiple output (MIMO)–orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) technology exploits spatial and frequency diversity completely to maximize the usage of the limited available spectrum.

Uncoordinated orthogonal frequency division multiple access: To spread or not to spread

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2009
We study uncoordinated multiple access using the orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) technique where multiple users independently and randomly pick a sub-carrier from a set of sub-carriers for transmission in each slot. Signals transmitted on distinct sub-carriers are orthogonal to each other while signals transmitted by different ...
