Nonorthogonal Multiple Access for 5G and Beyond [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the IEEE, 2017
Driven by the rapid escalation of the wireless capacity requirements imposed by advanced multimedia applications (e.g., ultra-high-definition video, virtual reality etc.), as well as the dramatically increasing demand for user access required for the Internet of Things (IoT), the fifth generation (5G) networks face challenges in terms of supporting ...

Non-orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) with Asynchronous Interference Cancellation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) allows allocating one carrier to more than one user at the same time in one cell. It is a promising technology to provide high throughput due to carrier reuse within a cell.

Multiple Access in Cognitive Radio Networks: From Orthogonal and Non-Orthogonal to Rate-Splitting

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Due to the increasingly complicated communication scenarios and network architectures as well as growing traffic demands for high speed connectivity, dynamic spectrum allocation in fifth generation (5G) networks becomes insufficient to guarantee the ...

On Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access in Downlink

open access: yesCoRR, 2016
Non orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) in the downlink is discussed in this letter. When combined with soft frequency reuse, NOMA is detrimental to user fairness by increasing the data rate of a near user at the cost of data rate of a far user.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Efficient non-orthogonal multiple access with simultaneous user association and resource allocation [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences: Technical Sciences, 2019
In this study, the concepts of simultaneous user association and resource allocation in non-orthogonal multiple access systems have been investigated. Subscribers are randomly distributed in them. In the paper, a novel cooperative energy harvesting model

Intelligent Reflecting Surface Assisted Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2019
Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) is a new and disruptive technology to achieve spectrum-, energy, and cost-efficient wireless networks. In this paper, we consider an IRS-assisted non-orthogonal-multiple-access (NOMA) system in which a base station ...

A Comparison between Orthogonal and Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access in Cooperative Relaying Power Line Communication Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Most, if not all, existing studies on power line communication (PLC) systems as well as industrial PLC standards are based on orthogonal multiple access schemes such as orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing and code-division multiple access. In this
