Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

Statistical Distribution of EVM Measurements for Direct-Modulation Radio-Over-Fiber Links Transporting OFDM Signals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The effect of distortion on the error vector magnitude (EVM) performance of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) signals with different numbers of subcarriers and the connection to the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of such signals is ...

Dose‐dependent hepatotoxicity of hydrogen peroxide in HepG2 cells and its modulation by CYP450 induction

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
NMR metabolomics revealed concentration‐dependent metabolic perturbations in HepG2 cells exposed to H2O2. Rifampicin pretreatment enhanced metabolic competence, attenuated toxin‐induced alterations and produced metabolite profiles more consistent with human liver physiology, supporting the use of CYP450‐induced HepG2 models for improved in vitro ...

Structure–Function Decoupling of the Sensorimotor and Default Mode Networks in Black Americans With MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...

Complementarity of Long‐Reads and Optical Mapping in Parkinson's Disease for Structural Variants

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Long‐read sequencing and optical genome mapping technologies have the ability to detect large and complex structural variants. This has led to the discovery of novel pathogenic variants in neurodegenerative movement disorders. Thus, we aimed to systematically compare the SV detection capabilities of OGM and ONT in Parkinson's disease.

Local Regularization Assisted Orthogonal Least Squares Regression

open access: yes, 2006
A locally regularized orthogonal least squares (LROLS) algorithm is proposed for constructing parsimonious or sparse regression models that generalize well.

Study of Orthogonal Signals to the Rotation of the Polarization Vector

open access: yesМоделирование и анализ информационных систем, 2013
The objects of this study were the properties of time-bound electromagnetic waves (wave packets) from rotating in space vectors of polarization with a constant angular velocity.

Simultaneous optimized orthogonal matching pursuit with application to ECG compression.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
A greedy pursuit strategy which finds a common basis for approximating a set of similar signals is proposed. The strategy extends the Optimized Orthogonal Matching Pursuit approach to selecting the subspace containing the approximation of all the signals

Interdependences between finger movement direction and haptic perception of oriented textures.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Although the natural haptic perception of textures includes active finger movements, it is unclear how closely perception and movements are linked. Here we investigated this question using oriented textures.

Orthogonal Transform Coding System for Television Signals

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 1970
