Orthogonal Versus Zero-Forced Beamforming in Multibeam Antenna Systems: Review and Challenges for Future Wireless Networks

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Microwaves, 2021
Orthogonality in multibeam antennas is revisited. The difference between orthogonal beamforming and zero-forced beamforming is highlighted. The intriguing relation between orthogonality, reciprocity and losses is recapitulated.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Separation and Characterization of Wenjin Tongluo San Essential Oil with a Comprehensive Chromatographic Separation

open access: yesSeparations
The essential oil components of traditional Chinese medicine in-hospital preparation were complex, and one-dimensional chromatographic separation was difficult to completely separate them due to the limited peak capacity.

On Uniqueness of New Orthogonality via 2-HH Norm in Normed Linear Space

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2020
This paper generalizes the special case of the Carlsson orthogonality in terms of the 2-HH norm in real normed linear space. Dragomir and Kikianty (2010) proved in their paper that the Pythagorean orthogonality is unique in any normed linear space, and ...

Orthogonality catastrophe in a one-dimensional system of correlated electrons

open access: yes, 1997
We present a detailed numerical study of the orthogonality catastrophe exponent for a one-dimensional lattice model of spinless fermions with nearest neighbor interaction using the density matrix remormalization group algorithm. Keeping up to 1200 states

Quantum logic is undecidable

open access: yes, 2020
We investigate the first-order theory of closed subspaces of complex Hilbert spaces in the signature $(\lor,\perp,0,1)$, where `$\perp$' is the orthogonality relation.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Orthogonal Basic Hypergeometric Laurent Polynomials

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2012
The Askey-Wilson polynomials are orthogonal polynomials in$x = cos heta$, which are given as a terminating $_4phi_3$ basic hypergeometric series. The non-symmetric Askey-Wilson polynomials are Laurent polynomials in $z=e^{iheta}$, which are given as a ...

Dimensional Lifting through the Generalized Gram–Schmidt Process

open access: yesEntropy, 2018
A new way of orthogonalizing ensembles of vectors by “lifting” them to higher dimensions is introduced. This method can potentially be utilized for solving quantum decision and computing problems.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.
