An Insect Salivary Sheath Protein Triggers Plant Resistance to Insects and Pathogens as a Conserved HAMP

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 21, June 5, 2025.
The salivary sheath protein myosin from SBPH is critical for the formation of the salivary sheath and feeding. However, myosin functions as a HAMP and triggered plant BAK1‐mediated PTI responses, which include the activation of calcium signaling pathways, MAPK phosphorylation, ROS bursts, and cell death, thereby triggering JA pathway.

Environmental release of a safener fenclorim from rice (Oryza sativa L.) following seed treatment

open access: yesAgricultural &Environmental Letters, Volume 10, Issue 1, June 2025.
Rice seed treatment with fenclorim followed by (fb) insecticide is the best option to minimize the release of fenclorim in soil and ensure the safety of final harvested rice from its residues. Abstract The safener fenclorim, effective in protecting rice (Oryza sativa L.) from the phytotoxicity of some herbicides, is regarded as a contaminant of ...

Effects of nutrient omission and landscape positions on grain sorghum production in northern Ethiopia

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 8, Issue 2, June 2025.
Abstract Low soil fertility, inappropriate fertilizer application, and low input use are prominent factors contributing to low agricultural productivity in Ethiopia, where soil fertility status varies significantly across the landscape. Applying the correct rate, type, timing, and placement of fertilizers is essential for maximizing agricultural ...
