Multi-dimensional Morse Index Theorems and a symplectic view of elliptic boundary value problems [PDF]
Morse Index Theorems for elliptic boundary value problems in multi-dimensions are proved under various boundary conditions. The theorems work for star-shaped domains and are based on a new idea of measuring the "oscillation" of the trace of the set of ...

Oscillation of high order linear functional differential equation with impulses
We study the solutions to high-order linear functional differential equations with impulses. We improve previous results in the oscillation theory for ordinary differential equations and obtain new criteria on the oscillation of solutions.

Intelligent Acousto‐Electrical Metamaterials (IAM) for Sound Source Detection
Our proposed metamaterial concept enables sound source detection using a single material, in contrast to conventional arrays that require dozens or even hundreds of transducers. We show that the coupled acoustic–vibrational–electrical responses in piezoelectric metamaterials give rise to topology‐governed charge transport, producing distinct voltage ...

Mechanically Programmable DNA Hydrogel Microparticles for 3D Cellular Systems
DNA hydrogel microparticles are designed to exhibit controllable viscoelasticity and stiffness across three orders of magnitude from 30Pa$30 \,\mathrm{Pa}$ to 6.5kPa$6.5 \,\mathrm{kPa}$. They are uptaken into fibroblast spheroids where they are actively remodeled by cellular forces depending on their mechanical properties.

Gapless Superconductivity From Extremely Dilute Magnetic Disorder in 2H‐NbSe2‐xSx
We demonstrate that 2H‐NbSe2‐xSx hosts gapless superconductivity at unexpectedly low magnetic impurity concentrations. Combining STM, Bogoliubovde Gennes simulations, DFT, and quasiparticle interference, we comprehensively study the development of gapless behavior and show that SeS substitution reshapes the band structure, enhances nesting, and drives ...

Whilst there is a considerable body of work in the literature on the theory of acoustic propagation in marine sediment, the incorporation of gas bubbles into such theories is done with the inclusion of assumptions which severely limit the applicability ...

Renormalized oscillation theory for Dirac operators
. Oscillation theory for one-dimensional Dirac operators with sep-arated boundary conditions is investigated. Our main theorem reads: If λ0,1 ∈ R and if u, v solve the Dirac equation Hu = λ0u, Hv = λ1v (in the weak sense) and respectively satisfy the ...
