Oscillator strengths for helium
Canadian Journal of Physics, 1970Oscillator strengths for 95 singlet and triplet s–p and p–d transitions in neutral helium have been calculated using analytical wave functions of the "frozen-core" type. Both length and velocity formulations of the oscillator strengths have been employed. Our results are generally in good agreement with the most accurate values available.

The measurement of oscillator strengths
Reports on Progress in Physics, 1986The methods and techniques currently used to measure oscillator strengths (or, equivalently, f-values and transition probabilities) are reviewed. Both linear and non-linear optical methods are discussed.

Abstract Accurate multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock (MCHF) ƒ-values are compared with the most reliable theoretical values obtained by other theories and recent laser beam experiments. For the 2 3 S-2 3 P transition in Li II, MCHF results are in excellent agreement with those of Schiff et al.

Oscillator strengths for the transitions in Ca xiii
Physical Review A, 1993The absorption oscillator strengths for a number of transitions among LS states and the fine-structure levels calculated using extensive configuration interaction in the wave functions are reported. The relativistic results are obtained adopting an intermediate-coupling scheme through the use of the terms of the Breit-Pauli Hamiltonian.

On the oscillator strength of the resonance transitions of Sr+
Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 1970Abstract Density measurements by the resonance flourescence scattering method and other diagnostic techniques in an Sr plasma, produced by contact ionization, yield for the ratio of the oscillator strengths of both resonance transitions of Sr + a value of about unity.

Computing Oscillator Strengths and Related Properties
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2007Based on recent monographies by Yngve ÖHRN, the central role of transition dipole moments for determining molecular properties is highlighted. In particular, the focus is placed on oscillator strengths, polarizabilities, and hyperpolarizabilities.

Cesium oscillator strengths are calculated using oneelectron wave flunctions. These functions are numerical solutions of the Schrodinger equation with a central, symmetric potential and with the spin-orbit term. The potential is chosen so that the binding energies of the lowest ten levels agree with spectroscopic values to 3%; the next 30 levels agree ...

On the Accuracy of Oscillator Strengths
1991It is important to investigate whether non—relativistic errors in calculated oscillator strengths and related atomic data are large enough to obscure corrections applied in relativistic calculations. The magnitude such errors is however difficult to estimate.

On the MgH oscillator strengths
Journal of Astrophysics and Astronomy, 1981The theoretical estimates of the oscillator strengths by Kirby, Saxon and Liu (1979) for theA II2 — XΣ2 system of the MgH molecule are compared with the solar photospheric results. It is found that the two results are in reasonable agreement.

The oscillator strength in atomic absorption spectroscopy
Spectrochimica Acta Part B: Atomic Spectroscopy, 1994Abstract The role of the oscillator strength, f, in the theory of atomic absorption is investigated. For a pure natural broadened absorption line, the peak absorption coefficient αo is independent of the oscillator strength. The peak absorption coefficient becomes dependent on f only through additional broadening processes such as Doppler or ...
