Abstract Novel compositionally complex borides, (Hf,Zr,Nb,Ti)B2 and (Hf,Zr,Nb,Ti)B2‒LaB6, were fabricated using spark plasma sintering process. (Hf,Zr,Nb,Ti)B2‒LaB6 exhibits a dual‐phase microstructure, in which (Hf,Zr,Nb,Ti)B2 is a primary phase with the hexagonal structure and LaB6 is a secondary phase with a cubic structure.

The obscured hyper-energetic GRB 120624B hosted by a luminous compact galaxy at z = 2.20 [PDF]
Gamma-ray bursts are the most luminous explosions that we can witness in the Universe. Studying the most extreme cases of these phenomena allows us to constrain the limits for the progenitor models. In this Letter, we study the prompt emission, afterglow,

HXE modulates Cu(Aβ) interaction, reducing ROS production and shifting peptide aggregation in the presence of Cu from toxic amorphous aggregates to less harmful fibrillar structures. These findings highlight HXE potential to interfere with Cu‐induced oxidative stress and aggregation pathways relevant to AD.

The kinematics of ionized gas in lyman-break analogs at z ~ 0.2 [PDF]
We present results for 19 “Lyman-break analogs” observed with Keck/OSIRIS with an adaptive-optics-assisted spatial resolution of less than 200 pc. We detect satellites/companions, diffuse emission, and velocity shear, all with high signal-to-noise ...

Mass of the Southern Black Hole in NGC 6240 from Laser Guide Star Adaptive Optics
NGC 6240 is a pair of colliding disk galaxies, each with a black hole in its core. We have used laser guide star adaptive optics on the Keck II telescope to obtain high-resolution ($\sim 0.06$") near-infrared integral-field spectra of the region ...

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shields consisting of polylactic acid (PLA) in layers with different concentrations of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) are produced using additive manufacturing. The permittivity function of layers with different filler concentrations is learned using data of homogeneous and randomly ordered shields.

Aims. As a sub-Uranus-mass low-density planet, GJ 3470b has been found to show a flat featureless transmission spectrum in the infrared and a tentative Rayleigh scattering slope in the optical. We conducted an optical transmission spectroscopy project to
