Projected 21st Century Changes in Precipitation and Temperature Over Italy Using CMIP6 CMCC‐CM2‐SR5 Model and COSMO‐CLM Dynamical Downscaling

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 6, May 2026.
This study evaluates the COSMO‐CLM regional climate model over Italy under CMIP6 scenarios. Compared to its driving global model, COSMO‐CLM reduces temperature biases by 50%–75% and better represents precipitation and extremes, adding critical mesoscale detail.

Projected Evolution of Climatic Aridity in Spain: Robust Signals and Model Uncertainties

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 6, May 2026.
This study examines the projected evolution of climatic aridity in Spain throughout the 21st century, using the UNEP Aridity Index and CMIP6 simulations under different emission scenarios and global warming levels. Despite model biases, results show a general increase in aridity across the country, particularly in southern regions and the Canary ...

Climatic Higher‐Order Balanced Winds Beyond Geostrophic and Gradient Wind Fields

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract We present a novel approach to derive three‐dimensional Climatic Higher‐Order Balanced (CHOB) wind fields from thermodynamic state variables in the free troposphere and stratosphere. The CHOB method is developed for monthly synoptic‐scale wind field estimation, utilizing commonly used balanced winds (geostrophic and gradient wind) enhanced by ...

Anatomia e importância clínica do buraco jugular

The Emergence of a Human Fingerprint in the Boreal Winter Extratropical Zonal Mean Circulation

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
Abstract The large‐scale atmospheric circulation plays an important role in regional climate. Recent studies have shown that poleward shifts in the Northern Hemisphere jet streams may be emerging, but the statistical significance and robustness are questionable.

Beyond Geostrophic and Gradient Wind: Enhancing the Estimation of Climatic Wind Fields From Radio Occultation

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Wind approximations, such as geostrophic and gradient wind, are limited in their ability to accurately represent atmospheric conditions in the presence of significant planetary wave activity. Those approximations, while widely applied in synoptic‐scale wind field estimation, fail to capture the full complexity of atmospheric dynamics under ...

Método prático de obtenção de amostras de meato acústico externo e membrana timpânica para estudo histológico e imunohistoquímico Method for removal of samples of ear canal and tympanic membrane for histologic and immunhistochemical study

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology, 2012
Ossos temporais humanos constituem valiosas fontes de estudo das doenças relacionadas à orelha. Apesar dos vários métodos existentes para obtenção de amostras de ossos temporais de cadáveres, geralmente estes métodos não são descritos em detalhes nos ...
