The Influence of the Protrusion Inclination Angle on the Formability of Hollow Joint in the Tube Hydroforming Process

open access: yesJournal of Machine Engineering
Hollow joints formed through the tube hydroforming process offer superior advantages over traditional forming methods such as casting, welding, sheet metal bending, and cutting.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Deep learning with fourier features for regressive flow field reconstruction from sparse sensor measurements

open access: yesScientific Reports
Many applications in computational and experimental fluid mechanics require effective methods for reconstructing the flow fields from limited sensor data.

Dynamical and Computational Analysis of Fractional Korteweg–de Vries-Burgers and Sawada–Kotera Equations in Terms of Caputo Fractional Derivative

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
This work examines the fractional Sawada–Kotera and Korteweg–de Vries (KdV)–Burgers equations, which are essential models of nonlinear wave phenomena in many scientific domains.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Stability and wave motion problems in continuous media with second sound [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this thesis we investigate thermal convection and wave motion in models of second sound such as the Cattaneo model, Green and Laws model, Batra model, and Green and Naghdi model. For the Green and Laws and Batra models we also investigate questions of

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.
