Automated Imaging of Cultured Bacteria in Picoliter Droplets by Coherent Anti‐Stokes Raman Scattering and Two‐Photon Excited Fluorescence Microscopy

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
We present an automated system that combines an image‐based fuzzy logic controller for precise positioning of microfluidic picoliter droplets with nonlinear microscopy, using CARS and TPEF modalities for detailed analysis of droplet composition. Time series and z‐stack images of E. coli, B. subtilis, and M. arborescens were recorded.

The molecular-genetic characteristics of uropathogenic Escherichia coli isolated from pregnant women with asymptomatic bacteriuria

open access: yesЖурнал микробиологии, эпидемиологии и иммунобиологии
Introduction. Uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) are the dominant bacterial pathogens of urinary tract infections (UTIs). UPEC belong to different phylogenetic groups and have many virulence factors, the study of which, in conjuction with the ...

Invariant submanifold for series arrays of Josephson junctions

open access: yes, 2008
We study the nonlinear dynamics of series arrays of Josephson junctions in the large-N limit, where N is the number of junctions in the array. The junctions are assumed to be identical, overdamped, driven by a constant bias current and globally coupled ...

Characteristics of Swallowing Function in People with Parkinson's Disease: A Scoping Review

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Most individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD) develop dysphagia during the course of their disease. It is crucial to comprehensively understand swallowing characteristics specific to PD for effective treatment. Objectives To systematically analyze and synthesize swallowing characteristics in people with PD compared with healthy ...

Resource limitation and competition shape reproductive allocation and synchrony

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
The dynamics of reproductive allocation (RA) in herbaceous plant communities, particularly in response to varying environmental conditions such as drought stress and competitive interactions, remain underexplored. This study aims to fill this gap by hypothesising that both belowground resource limitation and the presence of dominant species ...
