Chronic periodontitis elevates circulating CRP, which enters the hippocampus to upregulate BMP4 in oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs), thereby impairing neurogenesis and inducing anxiety/depression‐like behaviors in rats. Counteracting this pathway, CRP deficiency helps confer functional resilience to OPCs.

Fusobacterium Nucleatum-Derived Outer Membrane Vesicles Promote Immunotherapy Resistance
Aim or purpose: To explore whether the F. nucleatum-derived outer membrane vesicles (F.n-OMVs) promote immune escape and malignant phenotype formation of HNSCC.

Charge-Reversal Instability in Mixed Bilayer Vesicles
Bilayer vesicles form readily from mixtures of charged and neutral surfactants. When such a mixed vesicle binds an oppositely-charged object, its membrane partially demixes: the adhesion zone recruits more charged surfactants from the rest of the ...

This study developed a hierarchical targeting nanoplatform, siTREM2@ETP‐PEOz‐OMVs, against triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) bone metastasis. It precisely delivers therapeutic siTREM2 to monocytes/macrophages within the metastatic niche. This intervention dually regulates cell fate: reprogramming immunosuppressive macrophages and inhibiting ...

Study of macroscopic and microscopic properties of liposomes produced using microfluidic methods [PDF]
For the last decades, lipid vesicles or liposomes, vesicles formed by a bilayer of amphiphilic lipids, have been used as a toy model for studying the cell membrane and for applications in cosmetics and drug delivery.

Diffuse interface models of locally inextensible vesicles in a viscous fluid
We present a new diffuse interface model for the dynamics of inextensible vesicles in a viscous fluid. A new feature of this work is the implementation of the local inextensibility condition in the diffuse interface context.

Skeleton‐oriented object segmentation (SKOOTS) introduces a new strategy for 3D mitochondrial instance segmentation by predicting explicit skeletons rather than relying on boundary cues. This approach enables robust analysis of densely packed organelles in large FIB‐SEM datasets.

Evaluation of the Effect of Outer Membrane Vesicles (EcN) as an Effective and New Postbiotic on Inhibiting the Growth of Staphylococcus Aureus [PDF]
Background and purpose: The use of antibiotics is one of the most important ways to deal with bacterial infections. However, the improper of antibiotics and the emergence of drug resistance have compromised the effectiveness of antibiotics ...

Bordetella Pertussis And Outer Membrane Vesicles
Bordetella pertussis is the causative agent of a respiratory infection called pertussis (whooping cough) that can be fatal in newborns and infants. The pathogen produces a variety of antigenic compounds which alone or simultaneously can damage various host cells.

In fibrotic distal lung regions, CD66c+ basal cells emerge as a pathological state. Using human distal lung organoids, this study identifies CD66c+ basal cells as a pro‐fibrotic state arising through transdifferentiation from secretory, AT2, and basal cells.
