The structure of the Persian Gulf outflow subjected to density variations [PDF]

open access: yesOcean Science, 2009
Oceanographic data and a dynamic model are used to consider the structure of Persian Gulf outflow. This outflow influences the physical properties of Oman seawater which appear in the CTD profiles of the Oman Sea.

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

CSF Monoamine Metabolites and Cognitive Trajectory in Early Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Imaging and postmortem studies indicate that abnormalities in monoaminergic neurotransmission contribute to cognitive impairment in Parkinson's disease (PD). However, it remains uncertain if cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) monoamine metabolites can serve as biomarkers of cognitive decline in early PD.

Dimethyl Fumarate, But Not Rituximab, Reduces Serum GFAP Levels and PIRMA in Relapsing–Remitting MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (sGFAP) levels are believed to reflect mainly acute and chronic disease processes in multiple sclerosis (MS), respectively. In this study, we investigated whether dimethyl fumarate (DMF) and rituximab (RTX) differentially affect these biomarkers.

Comprehensive Assessment of Arterial, Tissue, and Venous Collaterals for Evaluating the Infarct Growth Rate: The Multimodal Collateral Score

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Collaterals are crucial factors that influence the infarct growth rate (IGR). We aimed to determine whether a comprehensive multimodal collateral score (MCS), incorporating collateral assessment at the arterial, tissue, and venous levels, is associated with functional independence and provides incremental prognostic value over ...

A jet-gas interaction beyond the host galaxy: Detection of a neutral hydrogen outflow at cosmic noon

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
We present upgraded Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (uGMRT) observations of 0731+438, an FR II radio galaxy at a redshift of 2.429 with two lobes separated by 82 kpc. A blueshifted, faint, and broad H I 21 cm absorption line with a velocity full width at

Bimatoprost Effects on Aqueous Humor Dynamics in Monkeys

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, 2010
The effects of bimatoprost on aqueous humor dynamics were quantified in monkey eyes. Uveoscleral outflow was measured by the anterior chamber perfusion method, using FITC-dextran.

Anti‐CD19 CAR T Cells in Autoimmune Encephalitis: Inflammation Controlled, Neurodegeneration Unchecked?

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Just recently, successful chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy was reported in the first patient with refractory, anti‐diacylglycerol lipase alpha (DAGLA) antibody‐mediated autoimmune encephalitis, achieving partial clinical remission.

CAR T‐Cell Therapy in Neurology: A Scoping Review of Neuro‐Oncology, Autoimmune Diseases & Neurotoxicity

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T‐cell therapy has been investigated in neurological diseases, encompassing both central nervous system malignancies and autoimmune disorders, thereby extending its application beyond hematological cancers.
