Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

The Influences of Outflow on the Dynamics of Inflow
Both numerical simulations and observations indicate that in an advection-dominated accretion flow most of the accretion material supplied at the outer boundary will not reach the inner boundary. Rather, they are lost via outflow.

Mass-losing accretion discs around supermassive black holes [PDF]
We study the effects of outflow/wind on the gravitational stability of accretion discs around supermassive black holes using a set of analytical steady-state solutions.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

The impact of the warm outflow in the young (GPS) radio source & ULIRG PKS 1345+12 (4C 12.50) [PDF]
(Abridged) We present new deep VLT/FORS optical spectra with intermediate resolution and large wavelength coverage of the GPS radio source and ULIRG PKS1345+12 (4C12.50; z=0.122), taken with the aim of investigating the impact of the nuclear activity on ...

This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

A search for 95 GHz class I methanol masers in molecular outflows
We have observed a sample of 288 molecular outflow sources including 123 high-mass and 165 low-mass sources to search for class I methanol masers at 95 GHz transition and to investigate relationship between outflow characteristics and class I methanol ...

Galactic cluster winds in presence of a dark energy [PDF]
We obtain a solution for the hydrodynamic outflow of the polytropic gas from the gravitating center, in presence of the uniform Dark Energy (DE).

Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.
