Quorum sensing improves current output with Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans [PDF]
Summary Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans is a strict acidophilic chemolithoautotrophic bacterium that obtains its energy from reduced inorganic sulfur species or ferrous iron oxidation under aerobic conditions. Carbon felt electrodes were pre‐colonized by A. ferrooxidans

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

New Current-Mode Bandpass Filters Using Three Single-Output ICCIIs
New current-mode bandpass filters using three single outputs inverting second generation current conveyors (ICCII) are introduced. The first circuit uses two ICCII+ and one ICCII−, and realizes an inverting bandpass response.

This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

A high step-up double-dual-boost converter with continuous output current
Although recently proposed double-dual-boost (DDB) DC-DC converters can be used in various applications, they are unable to achieve a higher voltage gain than the conventional DDB converter and typically suffer from a discontinuous output current.

High-CMRR CMOS current output stage
A novel current-mode output stage is presented which achieves high CMRR owing to an auxiliary high-gain feedback loop. Compared to the traditional solution, an approximately doubled transconductance is also obtained. SPICE simulations using the model parameters of a 0.8 µm CMOS process are found in remarkable agreement with expected results.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Conditioning a current source using OCCII-GIC for EIT systems [PDF]
Multi-Frequency EIT has been developed to evaluate the permittivity spectrum of a medium using an improved Howland source. Stray capacitance reduces the output impedance, bandwidth of the data collection leading to erroneous measurements. To address this,

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.
