Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

High-CMRR CMOS current output stage
A novel current-mode output stage is presented which achieves high CMRR owing to an auxiliary high-gain feedback loop. Compared to the traditional solution, an approximately doubled transconductance is also obtained. SPICE simulations using the model parameters of a 0.8 µm CMOS process are found in remarkable agreement with expected results.

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

A high step-up double-dual-boost converter with continuous output current
Although recently proposed double-dual-boost (DDB) DC-DC converters can be used in various applications, they are unable to achieve a higher voltage gain than the conventional DDB converter and typically suffer from a discontinuous output current.

A Sinusoidal Current Driver With an Extended Frequency Range and Multifrequency Operation for Bioimpedance Applications [PDF]
This paper describes an alternative sinusoidal current driver suitable for bioimpedance applications where high frequency operation is required. The circuit is based on a transconductor and provides current outputs with low phase error for frequencies ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Fuel Cell Output Current Prediction with a Hybrid Intelligent System
A fuel cell is a complex system, which produces electricity through an electrochemical reaction. For the formal application of control strategies on a fuel cell, it is very important to have a precise dynamic model of it.

Parametric measurements on a doped CO2TEA laser [PDF]
Parametric measurements have been performed on a CO2TEA laser with a discharge volume of 6.5 × 6.5 × 45 cm3. The effect of a low ionization seed gas, tri-n-propylamine, upon amplification, power output and voltage-current characteristics has been ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
