Output feedback control of PMSM

49th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2010
The problem of controlling a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor is approached in this paper eliminating the necessity of including a speed sensor and without knowledge of the (constant) load torque. The proposed controller is obtained by equipping a well-known state-feedback scheme with an observer for estimating the speed and an adaptation law for the

Output Feedback and Generic Stabilizability

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1984
This paper is concerned with problems of generic stabilizability of time- invariant linear systems by static linear output feedback. Let \(L_{m,n,p}\) be the space of all real linear systems (A,B,C) having m inputs, n states and p outputs. The problem is: For which dimensions m,n,p can one stabilize all (A,B,C) \(\in L_{m,n,p}\) except perhaps those ...

Output feedback realization of state feedback systems

Proceedings of the 39th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.00CH37187), 2002
Presents a general formulation for the realization of a linear state feedback system using output feedback. The proposed formulation can be applied to any linear state feedback design, provided that an observable output signal is available. We show that scalar output is sufficient to achieve the realization, even in the case of MIMO state feedback ...

Minimax Output Feedback Regulators

Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 1976
The linear quadratic regulator problem is considered, and a method for obtaining an optimal output feedback control subject to a minimax performance index is presented. The optimal constant feedback matrix, which denotes the optimal constant feedback gains, is determined by minimizing the effects of the worst value of the initial state on the system ...

LQP: Dominant output feedbacks

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1982
An output feedback matrix F will be said to dominate another, \bar{F} , if the cost for F is not higher for any initial condition than the cost for \bar{F} and if the cost is lower for some (perhaps all) initial conditions. The output feedback obtained by, for example, the Levine-Athans approach does not necessarily dominate the open-loop feedback \bar{

Periodic output feedback

1982 21st IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 1982
Linear time-invariant discrete-time scalar systems under periodically varying output feedback are considered. Some previous results on pole-placement are summarized, and extensions of these results are presented. The movement of zeros is also discussed.

Output feedback control

Proceedings of the 37th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.98CH36171), 2002
Nash game type of multiobjective output feedback control problems are considered. Sufficient conditions for the existence of optimal controllers are obtained for both finite horizon and infinite horizon problems.

Output Feedback Designs for Output Tracking

2004
In Chapters 2 and 3, we developed adaptive state feedback control schemes for linear time-invariant plants with actuator failures characterized by some inputs being stuck at some values not influenced by control action, to achieve state tracking (Chapter 2) or output tracking (Chapter 3).

On output feedback decoupling

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1981
A new necessary and sufficient condition is derived to decouple linear time-independent multivariable systems through output feedback. As a consequence of this result, an easily computable sufficient condition for output feedback decoupling is obtained which is expressed in terms of the open-loop parameters of the system.

Output Feedback Control

1993
The design of the optimal linear full state regulator requires the measurement of all system states. In many practical applications, this is not feasible due to either the high cost of the state measurements or the inaccessibility for measurement of some of the system states.
