Factors associated with the reproductive performance of ewes inseminated laparoscopically in England and Wales: A longitudinal study

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Laparoscopic intrauterine artificial insemination (Lap‐AI) is used in sheep genetic improvement programmes. However, the lambing rate (LR) (i.e., the proportion of inseminated ewes that lamb) following Lap‐AI is variable. Previously, one small UK study investigated factors associated with LR, but it did not adjust for dependencies ...

Iron Physiology and Its Impact on Atopic Diseases: An EAACI Taskforce Report

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Iron is essential for oxygen transport, energy metabolism, and immune regulation. Yet iron deficiency is the most common micronutrient disorder across all age groups, affecting nearly one quarter of the global population. Iron deficiency triggers nutritional immunity, a host defense mechanism that withholds and redistributes iron, contributing

Resolving Endoplasmic Reticulum‐Protein Misfolding Restores Corticosteroid Sensitivity in Experimental Models of Severe Asthma

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
This study investigates the role of ER stress in steroid resistance in severe asthma. Results from advanced 3D models of human bronchial epithelial cells, steroid‐resistant severe asthma mouse models, and human severe asthma sputum samples show that treatment with ICS in combination with the ER stress inhibitor 4‐PBA significantly enhances steroid ...

TNF Pathway‐Mediated Tolerogenic T‐Cell Trajectory Driven by Allergen Immunotherapy

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
The study shows that AIT re‐establishes local immune equilibrium by restoring Th17/Treg balance, while circulating Th17 cells remain functionally impaired. The transition from pro‐inflammatory Th17 to regulatory T cell states during AIT identifies Tr17 cells as an intermediate cell population.

Microtubule Inner Protein CFAP77 Contributes to Sperm Motility and Male Fertility in Mice

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sperm motility is essential for male fertility, and its regulation is dependent on the structural integrity of the axoneme. The axoneme consists of a conserved “9+2” microtubule arrangement and is supported by microtubule inner proteins. However, the functional significance of many microtubule inner proteins remains unclear.
