SLC8A1 deficiency in colorectal cancer cells increases intracellular calcium signaling, promoting the secretion of ANXA2‐enriched small extracellular vesicles. These vesicles reprogram tumor‐associated macrophages towards an M2 phenotype, which in turn fosters a tumor microenvironment conducive to radioresistance and is associated with poor patient ...

Benign ovarian cysts and breast cancer risk
Benign ovarian cysts have been suggested to influence breast cancer risk. To provide a comprehensive picture of the relation between ovarian cysts and breast cancer, we analyzed the data of 3 case-control studies conducted in northern Italy and the Swiss

This review highlights an emerging anticancer approach integrating platinum agents into photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photoactivated chemotherapy (PACT) systems, further augmented by cancer cell membrane‐ and organelle‐targeting. By directing photoactivated platinum complexes from nontargeted distribution to cancer cells or defined subcellular sites ...

Functional ovarian cysts in girls [PDF]
Ovarian masses may result from functional (nonneoplastic) cysts or benign or malignant neoplasms. In 1973, the World Health Organisation classified ovarian neoplasms into nine major categories and 26 subtypes, based on histologic cell type and benign ...

Origin of ovarian cancer from benign cysts
In a case-control study of 1031 epithelial ovarian cancers and 2311 controls conducted in Italy, 56 cases and 116 controls reported history of benign ovarian cysts, corresponding to a relative risk of 1.3 (95% confidence interval = 0.9-1.8).

As engineered nanomaterials gain prominence in cancer imaging and therapy, understanding their impact on tumor progression becomes increasingly critical. We demonstrate that gold and silica‐coated gold nanomaterials can either suppress or enhance breast cancer metastasis through distinct tumor microenvironment interactions, while identifying ...

Analysis of gonadocorticoids profile in canine patients diagnosed with ovarian cysts
Veterinarians can obtain a more comprehensive understanding of the progression of ovarian cystic pathology in dogs by assessing hormonal levels. This study aimed to examine the gonadocorticoid profile of dogs diagnosed with ovarian cysts and compare ...

This review elucidates how cancer cell metabolic reprogramming—across glucose, lipid, amino acid, and nucleotide pathways—remodels the tumor microenvironment to suppress anti‐tumor immunity and promote immune escape. Targeting these metabolic axes offers promising strategies to overcome immunotherapy resistance and enhance cancer treatment.

BNC2 exhibits context‐dependent opposing functions across multiple cancer types. This study reveals BNC2 as an oncogenic driver of melanoma proliferation and metastasis through transcriptional activation of PIK3CA. The natural compound TSN simultaneously degrades BNC2 and its oncogenic partner SMAD3 via CRBN‐dependent ubiquitination.
