good: An R package for modelling count data

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution
Organisms‐related data often appear as counts. The Poisson distribution is the most popular choice for modelling count data, but this distribution assumes equidispersion, which is usually not satisfied in real‐world data.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Antidumping Procedures and Macroeconomic Factors: A Comparison between the United States and the European Union [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines the relationship between antidumping filings and macroeconomic factors in the US and the EU. A highly dispersed distribution of the number of openings of antidumping proceduresis confirmed with an over-dispersion test, which leads us ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Biomass burning aerosol over Romania using dispersion model and Calipso data

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
The purpose of the study is to analyze the seasonal variability, for the hot and cold seasons, of biomass burning aerosol observed over Romania using forward dispersion calculations based on FLEXPART model.

Hermite regression analysis of multi-modal count data [PDF]

open access: yes
We discuss the modeling of count data whose empirical distribution is both multi-modal and over-dispersed, and propose the Hermite distribution with covariates introduced through the conditional mean. The model is readily estimated by maximum likelihood,

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

GDNF‐RET signaling drives pulmonary neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia and allergic airway inflammation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A neuroimmune interaction centered on the PNEC‐ILC2 axis in an asthma model. PNEC‐derived CGRP activates nearby ILC2s, which then release cytokines, including IL‐5 and IL‐13. These cytokines promote eosinophil and macrophage infiltration. Subsequently, GDNF produced by these cells induces PNEC hyperplasia via the GDNF receptors, RET and GFRα1 ...
