Nitrogen Under‐ and Over‐supply Induces Distinct Protein Responses in Maize Xylem SapF
Journal of Integrative Plant Biology, 2012AbstractXylem sap primarily transports water and mineral nutrients such as nitrogen (N) from roots to shoots in vascular plants. However, it remains largely unknown how nitrogenous compounds, especially proteins in xylem sap, respond to N under‐ or over‐supply. We found that reducing N supply increased amino‐N percentage of total N in maize (Zea mays L.

Drivers of carbon isotopic fractionation in a coral reef lagoon: Predominance of demand over supply
Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 2015Abstract The carbon isotopic signature (δ13C) of coral skeletons is influenced by isotopic fractionation (eorg) during photosynthetic dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) fixation, but only a few direct eorg measurements are available in coral communities. In particular, observations of eorg at the ecosystem scale are lacking.

Basin‐wide turbidites in a Miocene, over‐supplied deep‐sea plain: a geometrical analysis
Sedimentology, 1980ABSTRACTEighteen stratigraphic sections, 200 m thick on average, were logged in basin plain deposits of the Marnoso‐arenacea Formation (Miocene, northern Apennines) over an area of 123 × 27 km. Turbidites form 80–90% of the facies association, hemipelagites the remainder.

Some positive benefits that could arise from an 'over-supply' of doctors in Australia.
Australian family physician, 1980This paper proposes that five main advantages can flow from an increase in the number of doctors in Australia. These advantages relate to: (1) improvements in the quality of clinical medical care; (2) a renewed emphasis on preventive medical care; (3) a more equitable, need-related distribution of doctors; (4) the ability of doctors to participate in ...
